to volunteer. Must have digital camera with a telephoto lens of at least 20x optical zoom. Higher zoom is better. Should be able to get a license number at 100 yards minimum. Videos work great also. 4x4 vehicle is helpful. Help the community, help your families. All these desert dumpers pollute our desert and our water supply.

Mohave County ERACE (Environmental Rural Area Cleanup Enforcement) officers assisted the Golden Shores Off-Roaders with the group’s annual cleanup event Saturday, February 11.
“This was a major event,” ERACE Coordinator Gary Sibble said. “The Golden Shores Off-Roaders have been conducting desert cleanups for several years which continue to have a positive impact on the community and the environment.”
The cleanup took place from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on public lands in the Golden Shores area from Mile Post 4 to Mile Post 12 along Oatman Highway.
“The cleanup covered approximately 10 square miles and was very successful,” Sibble said. “Many of the dumpsites were scattered in remote, hard-to-reach areas which proved to be challenging for the Off-Roaders and volunteers.”
Golden Shores Off-Roaders President Chuck Brinkley said about 50 club members participated in the cleanup.
Sibble reported that the Bureau of Land Management was also involved and that El Paso Natural Gas donated a backhoe and operator for the event. As always, Dale Mayes of Big “D” Tires collected the illegally dumped tires and transported them to the county landfill.
“We removed a lot of junk from the environment,” Sibble said. “Two cars, one jet ski, close to 200 tires and four tons of debris were hauled off. When people come together for these major efforts, the results can be amazing. Our environment is returned to its natural beauty thanks to the hard work of people like the members of Golden Shores Off-Roaders.”
For more information or to report an act of illegal dumping, call Sibble at (928) 715-0480.

KINGMAN - A Golden Valley man who spent every morning picking up trash along Highway 68 during his daily walk has passed away.
Chuck Speir died March 7 after suffering a heart attack at his home, said his son, Allen Speir. He was 73.
For the last five years, Speir would set out before sunrise and walk along Highway 68 from Colorado Road to Adobe Road. Along the way, he'd fill the plastic bags he carried with trash that littered the side of the road.
His efforts were recognized by the Golden Valley Fire Department last fall, which provided him with a reflective safety vest to wear during his morning strolls.
He was also highlighted in an article in the Miner in November. He talked about finding all sorts of household items, food wrappers and cigarette butts carelessly discarded.
"I'm confused that people can throw (out) their trash the way they do," he said in the story.
Allen Speir said his dad took walks everyday for as long as he could remember, sometimes up to 12 miles at a time. It was his solitary time, Allen said.
"My father was a really nice, happy guy," he said. "Just somebody everybody liked. He was a very simple guy."
Speir was born in Chicago. He and his wife, Myra, moved to Golden Valley several years ago after being frequent visitors to Laughlin. The couple had two children, Allen and Andrea.
Services took place earlier this week.
The family asked that no flowers be sent - but Chuck probably wouldn't mind if everyone picked up a stray piece of litter in his honor.

We thought that this info deserved to be on this page where everyone can see. We have about 60 people a day looking,
and we know they would like to know about this kind of thing.

AND SINCE WE FOUND ALL THIS DUMPED IN THE DESERT, WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO PLASTER THIS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. WE ARE PRETTY SURE THAT THEY HAVE MOVED RECENTLY, AND HOPE THE NEXT PLACE CHECKS HERE BEFORE THEY RENT TO THEM. WE WILL BE GIVING THIS TO THE ERACE TEAM AND HOPE THEY CAN TRACK THEM DOWN. THIS TRASH IS SCATTERED UP NORTH BANK STEET FOR ABOUT 1/2 MILE.

If you ride quads or other vehicles in the desert, please have a camera at ready, and hopefully a GPS so you can email us any photos with GPS coordinates. You can be a great help in this area. A lot of these dumpsites are from thefts and should be treated as a crime scene with evidence. Do not pick through the dumpsite, many times there are very dangerous chemicals from a meth labs, in the sites. These chemicals can kill you, be very careful.
Remember if you are on BLM land, you are breaking the law if you are not riding on a road or trail that is already there.
This is the start of listings for local dumps, including cars, trash etc. If you go to google maps and enter the coordinates in decimals like below, with a dash between the north and west numbers google will go right to it.
