July 11, 2007

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s
assistance in identifying the person or persons involved in shooting and
killing seven cattle in the Cedar Hills area east of Kingman.  In many
of these shooting incidents, the animals were shot with a small caliber
gun and were left to suffer by bleeding-out until they died.
The first shooting occurred between April 21 and April 22, 2007,
where a breeding bull and a heifer were killed.  Since then, there have
been six additional reported shootings where five more cattle have died;
a six-year-old cow, two seven-year-old cows, four-year-old mother cow
(left an orphaned calf behind) and a female calf approximately 4 months
old.  During branding, a four-month-old male calf was found to have a
shotgun wound in his back and he is currently fighting the infection.
Mohave County Livestock Association is offering $1,000, Mohave
Silent Witness is offering $500 and Blake Ranch is offering $500 for
information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or
persons responsible for the shootings and deaths of cattle.
If anyone has any information, please contact Sgt. Barbara Larsen
at Mohave County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 753-0753 or Silent Witness
at (888) 227-8780.

I would like to express my opinion on this. As far as I am concerned, this should be the highest priority for the citizens of Mohave County. We, as Citizens Action Team will treat it as such. The ranchers of Mohave County have been a mainstay here. They have always been of the most upstanding citizens, and general all around good people that I have known. They deserve the utmost respect and are certainly deserving of our help.

IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO AND DO NOT WANT TO CONTACT LAW ENFORCEMENT, CALL US, WE WILL PURSUE THIS VIGOROUSLY. TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS WHEN CALLING, DIAL *67  AND THEN OUR NUMBER 727-8326. FOR MOST CELL PHONES, INPUT *67-727-8326 AND THEN PUSH SEND. THE CALLER ID WILL BE BLOCKED.
