Fatal Vehicle Crash

 

KINGMAN – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle traffic collision that occurred Wednesday at approximately 1230 p.m. The crash was located on Antares Rd., 1.4 miles north of Highway 66 in the Valle Vista area. An initial investigation revealed that Jason McCafferty, 35 of Kingman, was traveling northbound on Antares in a 2005 Ford F150 pulling a trailer with an ATV loaded on it. The F150 collided head-on with a 2007 Hyundai Sonata that had been traveling south bound and operated by Donna Beral, 55 of Kingman. McCafferty was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center by River Medical Ambulance where he was treated and released with foot and lower leg injuries. Louis Proton, 22 of Kingman and a passenger with McCafferty, was flown by Kingman Ranger to KRMC where he was treated for respiratory problems and possible internal injuries. Proton was admitted for further observation. Beral was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation as to the cause of the collision.

 

 

AUTO BURGLARY – MOHAVE VALLEY

 

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Hambly, 25, of Bullhead City and Christopher Kuntz, of Ft. Mohave, on multiple charges including auto burglary (F) Thursday (08/02) morning.  Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 2000 block of Prima Vera Ln, Fort Mohave at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, (08/01) morning.  Upon their arrival they found two individuals hiding behind the open door of a parked vehicle.  The area is prone to recent auto burglaries so the officer attempted to make contact with the individuals at which time the individuals fled on foot from the area.  While attempting to locate the subjects the deputies were advised that one of the subjects had returned to the vehicle (later identified as Michael Hambly) and was attempting to leave in the vehicle.  Contact was made with Mr. Hambly and after further investigation he was taken into custody and charged with four (4) counts of burglary (F), endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia (F) (which was located inside of his vehicle at that location). Mr. Hambly was transported and booked into the Mohave County Substation jail on the above mentioned charges. 

After further investigation it was learned where Mr. Kuntz was and deputies responded to his location and he was arrested and charged with four (4) counts of burglary (F) and one count of endangerment.  Mr. Kuntz was transported to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office substation where he was booked into the jail on the aforementioned charges.

Sobriety Checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols!

 

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting sobriety a sobriety checkpoint and DUI Saturation Patrols this Saturday, August 4, 2007. The checkpoints and patrols will be conducted in various locations in the Kingman area in an attempt to keep the motoring public safe during the weekend. Sgt. Don Bischoff, MCSO DUI Task Force Coordinator, said that several agencies in the tri-state area would be conducting extra patrols in an attempt to remove impaired drivers from the road.

 

We want to discourage anyone from drinking and driving. That goes for drinking and boating as well. Our goal is to help everyone stay safe and enjoy the activities on the water and on the land in the tri-state area this weekend, said Sheriff Tom Sheahan.

 WARRANT ARREST – LAKE HAVASU CITY

 

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jerrod Bartz, Jr (53), of Lake Havasu City, Thursday (08/02) evening on a warrant for contempt of court failure to pay fines, original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia (M). During routine patrol Mohave County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive rate of speed.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, identified as Mr. Bartz, was contacted.  A records check was conducted on Mr. Bartz which revealed and outstanding warrant for contempt of court failure to pay fines. Mr. Bartz was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office substation in Lake Havasu City where he was booked into the jail on the above referenced charge.

 

INJURY ACCIDENT-MOHAVE VALLEY

 

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Indian and Vanderslice early Friday (08/03) morning at approximately 2:40 a.m. to a report of an accident involving a dirt bike.  The initial report was that a male subject had wrecked his dirt bike in an unknown area of Mohave Valley and that his female passenger was also injured and unresponsive.  With the assistance of Mohave Valley Fire and Kingman Ranger the parties were located at approximately 3:45 in the area of Reservation Rd and Indian Rd, Mohave Valley.  The male subject was identified as Christopher Schmidt (25), of Mohave Valley, suffered a broken left wrist and scrapes. The female was identified as Lisa Grant (24), of Gilbert, AZ, suffered injuries to her hip, head and possible internal injuries. Both were transported to Valley View Medical center and Ms. Grant was later flown to Las Vegas with hip, head and possible internal injuries.

DRUGS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Christine AnnMarie Head,
20, of Bullhead City, and Sarah Rae Hubbard, 19, of Fort Mohave, late
Friday (8/3) afternoon.  Head was arrested for possession of marijuana,
possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and theft, misdemeanor.
Hubbard was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay fines
issued Bullhead City Municipal Court.  Approximately 4:17 p.m, deputies
responded to a theft at a park.  While en-route, dispatch informed
deputies that the suspect, identified as Head, left in a blue Dodge
truck and was traveling towards Camp Mohave Road.  As deputies
approached Camp Mohave Road and Calle Del Media, they observed the
described vehicle and it was occupied by two females.  Deputies
conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Camp Mohave Road and
contacted Head, the driver.  Deputies questioned Head regarding what
occurred at the park and Head replied that she took a friends purse
because her friend owes her money.  Deputies confirmed the purse
belonged to the 15-year-old female victim.  Head was taken into custody.
 A search of Head’s purse revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana.
 Deputies contacted Hubbard, the passenger.  A records check showed
Hubbard to have an outstanding warrant.  Hubbard was taken into custody.
 The victim responded to the scene.  The victim reported that Head took
her purse and drove away.  The purse was returned to the victim.  Head
and Hubbard were transported and booked into the Mohave County District
II Substation without incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.


DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Noel Donoho, 30, of Mohave
Valley, Friday (8/3) evening on two counts of aggravated domestic
violence, felonies.  Approximately 7:00 p.m, deputies responded to a
disturbance in the 8700 block of Ash Street and contacted the
30-year-old female victim.  The victim reported that Donoho, her
husband, started yelling and he threw a plastic chair across the living
room and the chair struck their 3-year-old daughter in the forehead.
The victim further said that Donoho hit her in the chest and pinned her
down on the couch.  Deputies contacted Donoho.  During conversations
with Donoho, he said that out of frustration he hit the table and threw
a plastic chair into the living room which accidentally hit their
daughter in the head.
Donoho was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and
booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

DRUGS – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kevin Lee Stickney, 23, of
Kingman, late Friday (8/3) evening for possession of dangerous drugs and
possession of marijuana, felonies.  Approximately 11:36 p.m., deputies
responded to a fight in a parking lot located in the 2900 block of
Northern Avenue and contacted Stickney.  During conversations with
Stickney, he said that he was jumped by three guys.  Deputies observed
Stickney to have a cut on his face and his shoulder.  River Medical
responded and treated Stickney.  Deputies contacted an employee of the
business and the employee said that Stickney was kicked out of the
business because of his disorderly behavior.  Deputies contacted a
witness.  The witness reported seeing a plastic bag containing a rock
fall out of Stickney’s pants.  The witness further said that Stickney
put the plastic bag back into his pants pocket.  Deputies questioned
Stickney.  Stickney emptied his pockets which contained two plastic bags
containing marijuana and a white crystal substance which field tested
positive for methamphetamine.   Stickney was taken into custody without
incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

DRUGS – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Richard Ray Epps III, 27,
of Lake Havasu City, late Saturday (8/4) afte
rnoon for possession of
dangerous drugs, felony, and failure to pay fines misdemeanor warrant
issued by Lake Havasu City Justice Court.  Approximately 4:42 p.m.,
deputies conducted a traffic stop on Industrial at Highway 95 for
excessive speed.  Deputies contacted
Epps, the driver, and a records check showed Epps to have an
outstanding warrant.  Epps was taken into custody without incident.  A
search of Epps revealed a plastic bag containing a white crystal
substance which tested positive for methamphetamine.  Epps was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.

ASSAULT/TRESPASSING – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Melissa Mary Stillwell, 22,
of Mohave Valley, early Sunday (8/5) morning for assault and
trespassing, misdemeanors.  Approximately 12:12 a.m, deputies responded
to a disturbance in the 2200 block of Mustang Drive and contacted a
30-year-old female victim.  The victim reported that Stillwell, her
neighbor, hit her earlier when she asked Stillwell to leave her
property.  Deputies observed minor scratches on the victim.  Deputies
contacted Stillwell at her residence. 
Stillwell was taken into custody without incident.  She was transported
and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Peter Jacobsen Jr.,
50, of Kingman, early Sunday (8/5) afternoon on a misdemeanor warrant
for failure to appear issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Approximately
1:30 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Northern Avenue near
Castle Rock and contacted Jacobsen, the driver.  A records check showed
Jacobsen to have an outstanding warrant.  Jacobsen was taken into
custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave
County Jail.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jerry Wayne Lessing, 37, of
Lake Havasu City, early Sunday (8/5) evening on a felony warrant for
failure to appear issued by Mohave County Superior Court on original
charge of aggravated assault domestic violence.  Approximately 5:30
p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on London Bridge Road at Lake
Drive and contacted Lessing, the driver.  A records check showed Lessing
to have an outstanding warrant.  Lessing was taken into custody without
incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County District
III Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Troy Jones, 22, of
Lake Havasu City, early Sunday (8/5) evening on a felony warrant for
failure to appear issued by Mohave County Superior Court on original
charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.   Approximately 6:34 p.m.,
deputies contacted Jones at Grelle Street and Saphire regarding his
outstanding warrant.  Jones was taken into custody without incident.  He
was transported and booked into the Mohave County District III
Substation.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Denny Allen Simmons, 49, of
Mohave Valley, Sunday (8/5) evening for aggravated assault domestic
violence, felony, and assault domestic violence, misdemeanor.
Approximately 6:51 p.m, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3000
block of Old West Drive.  Deputies contacted two female victims,
49-year-old and 11-year-old, at a nearby residence.  The 49-year-old
victim reported that Simmons, her husband, was yelling at her and he
threw her on the floor.  The victim further reported that Simmons
punched her in the face and he grabbed a family member and threw her
down the hallway.  Deputies attempted to make contact with Simmons at
their residence, but Simmons would not respond.  During the
investigation, deputies learned that Simmons has numerous firearms
inside the residence.  The MCSO Tactical Operations Unit and Negotiator
responded.  Numerous attempts were made to contact Simmons via public
announcement and cell phone without success.  Shortly after gas was
deployed, Simmons surrendered to deputies.  Simmons was taken into
custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave
County District II Substation.  During conversations with Simmons, he
said that he got into a physical fight with his wife and he didn’t
mean to throw his granddaughter against the wall. 
   
DRUGS/DRUGS FOR SALE – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Garnica, 28, and Jake
Daniels Sampo, 24, both of Lake Havasu City, Sunday (8/5) evening.
Garnica was arrested for possession of narcotic drugs, possession of
narcotic drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of
drug paraphernalia, felonies.  Sampo was arrested for possession of
narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of
drug paraphernalia, felonies.  Approximately 9:47 p.m., deputies
contacted two occupants inside a vehicle that had stopped in the street,
located in the 500 block of Sand Dab.  Deputies contacted Garnica, the
driver identified by his Mexico driver’s license, and Sampo, the
passenger.  Deputies noticed that Garnica and Sampo were very nervous.
Deputies observed an open can of beer in Sampo’s lap.  Deputies took
Sampo into custody without incident.  Deputies got consent to search
Garnica.  A search of Garnica revealed $1,600 of cash and a white
crystal substance folded in paper.  A search of the vehicle revealed a
plastic bag containing a white powder substance located on the passenger
floorboard and 17 plastic bags containing a white powder substance
located in the rear access door.   A field test determined the
substances to be methamphetamine and cocaine.  A combined weight of
approximately 46 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine was confiscated.
Garnica was taken into custody without incident.  Garnica and Sampo were
transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.  Border Patrol was contacted
regarding Garnica’s immigration status and an immigration hold was
placed on Garnica.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – DOLAN SPRINGS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jeremiah Augustus Hamer,
30, of Dolan Springs, Monday (8/6) evening for aggravated assault with
deadly weapon, felony.  Approximately 10:32 p.m., deputies responded to
a weapons offense at 16th Street and Maywood.  Deputies contacted the
31-year-old male victim.  The victim reported that Hamer, a friend, was
at his house earlier and discharged a weapon for no reason.  The victim
further reported that Hamer quickly left after he fired the gun.
Deputies located a spent casing on the ground.  A short time later,
deputies contacted Hamer at a residence in the 17100 block of Laurel
Drive.  During conversations with Hamer, he said that he was at his
friends’ house earlier but he did not fire a handgun.  Hamer was taken
into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the
Mohave County Jail. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jesus Espinoza, 23, of
Kingman, early Tuesday (8/7) morning for assault domestic violence, a
misdemeanor.  Approximately 2:05 a.m, deputies responded to an assault
call in the 2600 block of Butler Avenue and contacted the 18-year-old
female victim.  The victim reported that Espinoza, her husband,
assaulted her with a belt numerous times.  Deputies observed red marks
on the victims’ arm, thigh and lower back.  Deputies contacted
Espinoza and took him into custody without incident.  He was transported
and booked into the Mohave Jail.  Deputies learned that Espinoza may be
an illegal immigrant.  Border Patrol was contacted regarding
Espinoza’s immigration status and an immigration hold was placed on
Espinoza.

SEARCH AND RESCUE – GOLDEN VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Units were deployed Tuesday
(8/7) evening due to a missing person in the desert.  The reporting
party said that her husband went hiking around 2:00 p.m. and they agreed
that she’d call for help if he hadn’t returned by sundown.
Approximately 8:30 p.m., Search and Rescue Units were deployed along
with the assistance of Kingman Air Rescue Ranger, Department of Public
Safety.  The missing hiker was identified as Christopher James Wood, 33,
of Scottsville, Kentucky.  At about 9:30 p.m., Kingman Air Rescue Ranger
located the missing hiker at the top of the mountain, approximately 3
miles northwest of Oatman Highway near Dripping Springs.  Ranger landed
and transported the hiker to safety.  The hiker was in good health. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Sheldon Hill, 45, of
Fort Mohave, early Tuesday (8/7) morning on a contempt of court
misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Approximately
10:30 a.m, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 5200 block of
Calle Del Media and contacted two male adults.  Both subjects reported
that they had gotten into an argument with one another.  A records check
showed Hill to have an outstanding warrant.  Hill was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District II Substation. 

WARRANTS ARREST – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Sandra Lee Gaul, 65, of
Fort Mohave, late Tuesday (8/7) morning on two misdemeanors warrants for
failure to appear both issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.
Approximately 11:39 a.m, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 95
at King Street and contacted Gaul, the driver.  A records check showed
Gaul to have outstanding warrants.  Gaul was taken into custody without
incident.  She was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District II Substation. 

THEFT – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested William Russell Hearn, 61,
of Mohave Valley, late Tuesday (8/7) morning for theft of services, a
felony.  Approximately 10:47 a.m, deputies responded to a theft of
services report in the 10000 block of Oak Tree Drive.  Deputies
contacted the employee for Fort Mohave Tribal Utilities.  The employee
reported that someone hooked up a hose to the water source and has been
receiving water without paying for it.   Deputies observed the water
hose was going directly to a trailer.  Deputies contacted a male subject
identified as Hearn inside the trailer.  During conversations with
Hearn, he admitted to hooking the water up to his place.  Hearn was
taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into
the Mohave County District II Substation.

FUNDRAISER

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #65 is inviting the
public to attend a car wash event this Saturday, August 11, 2007,
beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office located
in Kingman at 600 W. Beale Street.  Donations will be applied toward
upcoming Explorer competitions.
Explorer Unit’s compete with one another in simulated DUI stops,
high-risk vehicle stops, marijuana field raids and shooting
competitions.  Explorers incur expenses associated with competitions far
as registration fees and travel expenses. 
Mohave County Explorers consist of young men and women (8th grade
graduates to 21 years of age).  Anyone interested in participating in
the Explorers Program for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office should

SHOOTING FOLLOW-UP  – DOLAN SPRINGS
On August 3rd, 2007, a felony warrant was issued by Kingman Justice
Court for Michael James MacFarlane, 40, of Las Vegas, Nevada, on charges
of attempted 1st degree murder and aggravated assault.  MacFarlane was
wanted in connection with the shooting that occurred in Dolan Springs
early Monday (7/23) morning.  At about 3:11 a.m., detectives and
deputies responded to a weapons offense call in the 5900 block of 17th
Street.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a male victim identified as
Dennis Waller, 63, of Dolan Springs, was shot multiple times. Waller is
currently listed in critical condition at University Medical Center in
Las Vegas.  Please refer to MCSO Press Release dated 7/24/07.  On August
7th, 2007, MacFarlane was arrested by Las Vegas Metro Police on local
charges along with the felony warrant.  MacFarlane was booked into the
Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jody Allen Miller, 36, of
Kingman, Wednesday (8/8) morning on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to
pay fines issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Approximately 8:13 a.m,
deputies responded to suspicious male subjects in a vacant lot located
in the 3600 block of Hearne Avenue.  Deputies contacted both male
subjects.  A records check showed one of the subjects identified as
Miller to have an outstanding warrant.  Miller was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
Jail.

WARRANTS ARREST – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Steven Haveles, 62,
of Lake Havasu City, late Wednesday (8/8) morning on four misdemeanor
warrants for failure to appear, all issued by Lake Havasu City Justice
Court.  Approximately 10:48 a.m, deputies conducted a traffic stop on
South McCulloch at Lakeside and contacted Haveles, the driver.  A
records check showed Haveles to have outstanding warrants.  Haveles was
taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into
the Mohave County District III Substation.

WARRANT ARREST – SITE SIX
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joshua James Bartley, 31,
of Lake Havasu City, early Thursday (8/9) morning on a misdemeanor
warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Lake Havasu City Justice
Court.  Approximately 2:16 a.m, deputies responded to a 911 call at Site
Six.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted Bartley.  A records check showed
Bartley to have outstanding warrants.  Bartley was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District III Substation.

DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jack Arnold Hanks, 64, of
Kingman, early Saturday (8/4) afternoon for DUI, a misdemeanor.
Approximately 12:55 p.m., deputies contacted Hanks while they were
working a DUI Checkpoint on Stockton Hill Road at milepost 6.  Hanks was
driving a green Ford truck.  Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on
Hanks.  During conversations with Hanks, he admitted to having one beer
earlier. Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Hanks was taken
into custody and an analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration
(BAC) to be .011.  Hanks was transported to the Mohave County Jail
without incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – BULLHEAD CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ivylynn Addison Yeomans,
53, of Bullhead City, late Friday (8/10) morning on a felony warrant
issued by Mohave County Superior Court for resisting arrest and two
counts of aggravated assault.  Approximately 10:47 a.m., deputies
contacted Yeomans at a residence in the 1600 block of Gardens Drive
regarding her outstanding warrant.  Yeomans was taken into custody
without incident.  She was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District II Substation. 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Zachary Adam Allen, 19, of
Fort Mohave, early Friday (8/10) evening for disorderly conduct, a
misdemeanor.  Approximately 3:51 p.m., deputies responded to a
disturbance call in the 5000 block of Erin Drive.  Deputies contacted a
21-year-old male victim and a witness.  The victim reported that Allen
attempted to start a fight with him earlier when he was at a business
located in the 4800 block of Highway 95.  The victim further reported
that as he was attempting to leave in his vehicle, that Allen hit the
driver’s side window and rear window with his hand.  The witness
confirmed the victims’ statements.  At about 5:10 p.m., deputies
contacted Allen at a residence in the 4600 block of Rio Camino Loop.
During conversations with Allen, he said that he hit the window because
the victim ran over the tip of his shoe.  Deputies could not locate any
tire marks on Allen’s shoe.  Allen was taken into custody without
incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County District
II Substation. 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – VALLE VISTA
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Marardo Rascon, 32, of
Kingman, early Friday (8/10) evening for aggravated assault, felony, and
a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear issued by Bullhead City
Justice Court.  On Wednesday, August 1, deputies responded to the
emergency room at the Kingman Regional Medical Center located in the
3200 block of Stockton Hill Road in Kingman.  Deputies contacted a
47-year-old male victim.  The victim reported that he was at a job site
earlier in Valle Vista located in the 6800 block of Brooks and he was
approached by Rascon wanting to know about payment.  The victim further
reported that Rascon began hitting him several times with a piece of
rebar.  Deputies observed staples in the victims’ head.  Deputies
attempted to locate Rascon without success.  Upon further investigation,
deputies learned of Rascon whereabouts.  At about 5:30 p.m., deputies
contacted Rascon at a residence in the 2600 block of Marlene Avenue in
Kingman.  During conversations with Rascon, he said that he was at a job
site in Valle Vista and that he was suppose to get paid and he wasn’t.
 Further conversations with Rascon, he said the victim made a comment
about getting a gun from his vehicle and that’s when he picked up a
piece of rebar and hit the victim.  Rascon was taken into custody
without incident.  A records check showed Rascon to have an outstanding
warrant.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. 

2’XS AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – SCENIC (AZ STRIP)
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Stephen Boyer, 50, of
Scenic, late Friday (8/10) evening on two counts of aggravated assault
with deadly weapon, felonies.  Approximately 10:22 p.m., deputies
responded to a weapons offense call in the 3900 block of Big Bend.
While en-route, deputies contacted two male victims at the corner of Big
Bend and Elbow Canyon Road. 
One of the victims reported that he was talking with Boyer, a neighbor,
and Boyer displayed a long gun and shot it towards his vehicle as he was
standing on the other side.  The victim further reported that his
brother-in-law was sitting inside his vehicle.  The victim showed
deputies a flat front right tire which he believed was flatten from
being shot at.
 Deputies examined the tire and observed pellets marks in
the steel rim.  Deputies contacted a witness.  The witness reported that
Boyer discharged the firearm.  Deputies proceeded to contact Boyer at
his residence where he was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mesquite Jail.  The shotgun was
confiscated.
 
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA/SUSPENDED LICENSE – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Andrew Mathews, 39, and
Virginia Lea Mathews, 49, both of Lake Havasu City, Saturday (8/11)
afternoon.  Andrew Mathews was arrested for suspended driver’s
license, a misdemeanor.  Virginia Mathews was arrested for possession of
drug paraphernalia, a felony.  Approximately 4:04 p.m, deputies
conducted a traffic stop on Sloop at Mission and contacted Andrew
Mathews, the driver.  A records check showed Andrew Mathews to have a
suspended driver’s license.  Andrew Mathews was taken into custody.
Deputies contacted the passenger identified as Virginia Mathews.
Deputies observed the passenger moving around a lot and fidgeting with
her purse while he was speaking with her husband, Andrew Mathews.
Deputies got consent to search Virginia Mathews purse.  The search
revealed a silver container with a white crystal residue which field
tested positive for methamphetamine.  Virginia Mathews was taken into
custody.  Andrew Mathews and Virginia Mathews were transported and
booked into the Mohave County District III Substation without incident.
The vehicle was towed from the scene. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Thomas Laird Gould, 47, of
Desert Hills, Saturday (8/11) evening for disorderly conduct domestic
violence, misdemeanor.  Approximately 6:07 p.m, deputies responded to a
restaurant located in the 3600 block of London Bridge Road regarding a
stabbing.  Deputies contacted the 43-year-old female victim.  The victim
reported that Gould, her boyfriend, stabbed her with a knife earlier at
their residence located in the 3500 block of Tourmaline Street.
Deputies observed numerous small cuts on her chest.  Deputies contacted
Gould at his residence.  During conversations with Gould, he said that
they had gotten into an argument earlier.  Further conversations with
Gould, he said that his girlfriend grabbed a knife and started cutting
herself.  Gould was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.


ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 4 illegal immigrants early
Sunday (7/8) morning.  Approximately 4:00 a.m., deputies conducted a
traffic stop for a vehicle speeding 80 mph in a posted 65 mph on Highway
95 at London Bridge Road.  Deputies contacted four occupants inside the
vehicle and determined them to be illegal immigrants with the assistance
of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  The four subjects were
transported to the Mohave County District III Substation where ICE later
took them into custody.  The driver was cited for speeding and the
vehicle was towed from the scene. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rico Joe Guzman, 48, of
Fort Mohave, late Sunday (8/12) morning on a misdemeanor warrant issued
by Bullhead City Justice Court for failure to appear on an original
charge of open liquor container in vehicle.  Approximately 11:47 a.m.,
deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 5300 block of Covina
Road.  Deputies contacted both parties and they said that they got into
a verbal argument.  A records check showed Guzman to have an outstanding
warrant.  Guzman was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – OATMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Donald Dean Fenske, 52, of
Oatman, Sunday (8/12) evening for aggravated assault domestic violence,
felony, and disorderly conduct domestic violence, misdemeano
r.
Approximately 6:10 p.m, deputies responded to an assault call in the 90
block of Orion Drive and contacted a 53-year-old female victim.  The
victim reported that Fenske, her boyfriends father, struck her in the
head with his cane and he also hit her in the arm twice before the cane
broke in half.  Medical responded and treated the victim. Deputies
contacted a witness and the witness said that he saw Fenske hit the
victim with the cane.  Deputies contacted Fenske.  During conversations
with Fenske, he said that he defended himself with the cane after the
victim hit him.  Fenske was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.

BOAT ACCIDENT – LAKE HAVASU
Mohave County Sheriff’s Waterways deputies responded to a single boat
accident with injuries in the area of Spectator Point near Thompson Bay,
Sunday (8/12) evening.  Approximately 7:16 p.m., deputies responded to
the scene of where a 1992 21-foot Schiada boat was heading west from
Spectator Point and was traveling at a high rate of speed when the boat
capsized.  Lake Havasu Fire Department pulled all 5 occupants from the
water and transported them to the Island shoreline.  Three of the
occupants were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for
non-life threatening injuries while the other two occupants were in okay
condition, as they refused medical treatment.  The injured occupants are
identified as Michael Thorpe, 29, Doran Wildridge, 23, both of
Riverside, California, and Noel Butcher, 26, of San Diego, California.
Thorpe was later flown to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Alcohol is a factor.  This accident remains under investigation and
charges may be pending.  The boat has been recovered.

UNLAWFUL FLIGHT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Keith Ray Johansen, 32, of
Kingman, late Sunday (8/12) morning for unlawful flight from law
enforcement vehicle, felony, and four misdemeanor warrants.  At about
10:40 a.m., deputies observed a red Honda motorcycle with no license
plate turn right onto Marshall Avenue from Thompson Avenue.  Deputies
attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued
traveling.  The driver continued traveling a couple blocks until he
pulled into an empty lot in the 4600 block of Powell Avenue.  Deputies
contacted Johansen, the driver.  A records check showed Johansen to have
four misdemeanor warrants; two issued by Kingman Justice Court for
contempt of court and driving with suspended license and two issued by
Kingman Municipal Court both for contempt of court.  Johansen was taken
into custody without incident.  During conversations with Johansen, he
said that he didn’t stop because he knew that he had outstanding
warrants.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.

DRUGS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a juvenile and an adult,
both from California, early Tuesday (8/14) morning.  Rush Gerhard Allen,
17, of Villa Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and
possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies.  Mitchel Ryan Clapper, 18,
of Orange, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of
drug paraphernalia, felonies. 
Approximately 1:40 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway
95 at Aztec Road and contacted Allen, the driver.  Deputies observed two
other male passengers in the vehicle.  While deputies were questioning
the passengers, they observed their responses to be slow.  Deputies also
observed the passengers’ eyes to be blood shot and glossy.  During
conversations with
Allen, he said that there were no drugs in the vehicle.  Deputies got
consent to search the vehicle.  The search revealed a water pipe, a
scale and a small container with approximately 1.2 grams of marijuana.
During conversations with Clapper, he said the items belonged to him.
Clapper was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and
booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.  A juvenile
referral has been submitted on Rush Gerhard Allen to the Mohave County
Juvenile Probation.  The two juveniles were released to an adult who
responded to the scene.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

DRUGS/ DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two male juveniles, ages 15
and 16, and Jon Leslie Ferrante, 18, all from Kingman, Saturday (8/11)
afternoon.  Both of the male juveniles have been charged with possession
of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies.  Ferrante
was arrested for assault, misdemeanor.  Approximately 4:00 p.m.,
deputies responded to a fight in the 2700 block of McVicar Avenue.
Dispatch informed deputies that the suspects left in a tan vehicle.
While en-route, deputies observed the vehicle at N Lomita Street and
Suffock Avenue and conducted a traffic stop.  Deputies contacted three
male subjects; two juveniles and Ferrante.  During conversations with
Ferrante, he said that he hit a male subject in the 2700 block of
McVicar Avenue.  Ferrante was taken into custody without incident.  He
was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.  A search of the
vehicle revealed numerous glass pipes with residue and two plastic bags
containing marijuana.  Deputies determined the items belonged to the
juveniles.  Juvenile referrals have been submitted on both juveniles to
the Mohave County Juvenile Probation. 

SUSPENDED LICENSE/WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dayton Dane Welsh, 61, of
Mohave Valley, early Monday (8/13) morning for driving with suspended
license and a warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman Justice
Court, both misdemeanors.  Approximately 4:40 a.m., deputies conducted a
traffic stop on Highway 95 at Aztec Road and contacted Welsh, the
driver.  A records check showed Welsh to have suspended driver’s
license and an outstanding warrant.  Welsh was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District II Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Debra Anne Oates, 49, of
Fort Mohave, early Tuesday (8/14) morning for failure to pay fines
misdemeanor warrant issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.
Approximately 9:50 a.m, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of
El Rodeo and Mountain View.  Deputies contacted Oates, the driver.  A
records check showed Oates to have an outstanding warrant.  Oates was
taken into custody without incident.  She was transported and booked
into the Mohave County District II Substation.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 7 illegal immigrants in two
separate traffic stops on Wednesday (8/15).

The first traffic stop occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Highway 95 at
Hammer Road.   Deputies contacted three occupants inside the vehicle and
determined them to be illegal immigrants with the assistance of
Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  The three subjects were
transported to the Mohave County District II Substation where ICE will
later take custody of them.  The driver was cited for no valid
driver’s license, failure to produce evidence of financial
responsibility, unsafe lane change and impede traffic.
The driver is identified as Felix Ramirel, 21, and the passengers
identified as Salvador Guzman-Cordero, 38, and Julian Pacheco Robles,
age unknown.
 
The second traffic stop occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on Highway 95 at
Lipan Road.   Deputies contacted four occupants inside the vehicle and
determined them to be illegal immigrants with the assistance of
Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  The four subjects were transported
to the Mohave County District II Substation where ICE will later take
custody of them.  The driver is identified as Fernando Perez-Morales,
23, and the passengers identified as Jesus Hernandez, 26, Roberto
Perez-Morales, age unknown, and the four subjects’ identity and age is
unknown at time of release.

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Paul Gilbert Venegas, 41,
of Fort Mohave on Wednesday (8/15) morning for an outstanding warrant.
Approximately 11:30 am, deputies contacted Venegas in the 1400 block of
Camp Mohave Road.  A record check showed Venegas to have a misdemeanor
warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Venegas
was taken into custody without incident.  Venegas was transported and
booked into the Mohave County District II Sub-station.

19 year-old male victim who reported that Romo had assaulted him with an
expandable baton.  The victim reported that he tried to run away from
the scene but Romo chased after him and took him back to the residence.
The victim told deputies that a short time later, he kicked open the
door to the residence and was able to leave.  Deputies observed injuries
to the victim’s head, arms, face and back.  The victim refused medical
treatment.  Deputies also recovered a black expandable baton from the
residence.  Deputies were unable to contact Romo at that time.  On
Thursday (8/16) at approximately 6:00 am, Romo was contacted at the
residence in the 2000 block of Moon Mountain Place and taken into
custody without incident.  Romo was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District II Sub-station.

Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Jack Daniel Ingram, 35,
of Kingman on Wednesday (8/15) afternoon for an outstanding felony
warrant.  Approximately 2:30 pm, detectives contacted Ingram at a
residence in the 3000 block of Butler Avenue.  A record check showed
Ingram to have a warrant for failure to appear issued by Mohave County
Superior Court.  Ingram was taken into custody without incident.  Ingram
was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

WARRANT ARREST – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Joseph Boyd, 27, from
California on Thursday (8/16) morning for an outstanding misdemeanor
warrant.  Approximately 11:30 am, deputies contacted Boyd in the 10000
Harbor Avenue.  A record check showed Boyd to have a failure to appear
warrant issued by Flagstaff Justice Court.  Boyd was taken into custody
without incident.  Boyd was transported and booked into the Mohave
County District II Sub-station.

WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Thomas George Lawson, 37,
of Dolan Springs on Friday (8/17) morning for an outstanding misdemeanor
warrant.  Approximately 2:30 am, deputies contacted Lawson in the 2300
block of Butler Avenue.  A record check showed Lawson to have a warrant
for failure to pay a fine issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Lawson was
taken into custody without incident.  Lawson was transported and booked
into the Mohave County Jail.

SEARCH WARRANT – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested James Ronald Romo Jr, 27,
of Fort Mohave on Thursday (8/16) morning after a search warrant of his
residence in the 2000 block of Moon Mountain Place.  Approximately 4:30
am, detectives served the search warrant and entered the residence,
recovering weapons, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and items to
manufacture explosive devices.  A record check showed Romo to be a
prohibited processor of firearms.  Romo was taken into custody without
incident.  He was booked on charges of possession of paraphernalia to
manufacture explosive devices, three charges of possession of weapons by
a prohibited person, possession of marijuana, possession of drug
paraphernalia and misconduct involving weapons, all felonies.  Romo was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Sub-station.

SEARCH WARRANT – KINGMAN
MAGNET (Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team) Task Force
officers arrested a former Mohave County Lead Drug Prosecutor Craig
Robert Friesner, 57, of Kingman.  On Friday (8/17), at approximately
9:30 am, MAGNET officers served a search warrant on a residence in the
200 block of Chestnut.  Friesner was taken into custody for two counts
of sale of dangerous drugs, class 2 felonies and possession of drug
paraphernalia, a class 6 felony.  Friesner was taken into custody
without incident.  Friesner was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
This arrest concluded a four month long investigation by MAGNET Task
Force. 

SEARCH WARRANT – KINGMAN
MAGNET (Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team) Task Force
officers conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of
Third Street.  On Friday (8/17) at approximately 9:30 am, MAGNET
officers served the search warrant and contacted the occupants of the
residence.  David Albert Rubio, 43, of Kingman was arrested for
possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony.  A record check also showed
Rubio to have two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for interfering with
judicial proceedings issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Also arrested was
Patricia Marciline Harness, 31, of Kingman for possession of drug
paraphernalia, a felony.  Rubio and Harness were taken into custody
without incident.  Both were transported and booked into the Mohave
County Jail.

SHERIFF CONTINUES APPREHENSION OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended five more illegal
immigrants on Saturday (8/18) in Bullhead City.  This brings a total of
27 illegal immigrants apprehended in the last four weeks where they were
charged with local crimes and/or custody was transferred to U.S. Border
Patrol Agents.  During a traffic stop on Saturday (8/18) on Highway 95
near Bullhead Parkway North, deputies contacted five subjects and
determined them to be illegal immigrants.  The suspects were taken into
custody and transported to the Mohave Valley District II Jail where
custody of the five was transferred to U.S. Border Patrol Agents for
deportation.

OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE – LAKE HAVASU
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Monte Joe Bertoldo, 40, of
Palm Springs, Calif., late Friday (8/17) afternoon for OUI and OUI with
a blood alcohol concentration over .08%, misdemeanors.  Approximately
4:50 p.m., deputies observed a watercraft traveling westbound in the
South Basin near Copper Canyon with an excessive wake in a no wake zone.
 Deputies conducted a traffic stop and contacted Bertoldo, the operator.
 Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Bertoldo.  During conversations
with Bertoldo, he admitted to have been drinking.  Bertoldo was taken
into custody and transported to Contact Point where an analysis revealed
his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .140%.  He was transported
and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation without
incident. 

EXTREME DUI – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Noe Villa Gutierres, 21, of
Bullhead City, Friday (8/17) evening for DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .08%, extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration
over .15%, and a warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Bullhead
City Municipal Court, all misdemeanors.  Approximately 8:15 p.m.,
deputies conducted a traffic stop on Boundary Cone and Highway 95.
Deputies contacted Gutierres, the driver.  Deputies smelled an odor of
alcohol on Gutierres.  A records check showed Gutierres to have an
outstanding warrant.  Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s),
Gutierres was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County
District II Substation where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol
concentration (BAC) to be .168%.  He was booked into the jail without
incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.  Gutierres was cited
for expired registration, failure to produce insurance and no valid
license. 

WARRANT ARREST – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Glenn Thomas Frye, 23, of
Desert Hills, Friday (8/17) evening on a misdemeanor warrant for failure
to pay fines issued by Lake Havasu City Justice Court.  Approximately
9:13 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at London Bridge Road and
Bryden.  Depuites contacted Frye and a records check showed Frye to have
an outstanding warrant.  Frye was taken into custody without incident.
He was transported and booked into the Mohave County District III
Substation. 

AGGRAVATED DUI – DOLAN SPRINGS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Wayne Warnock, 55,
of Dolan Springs, Saturday (8/18) evening for aggravated DUI, felony.
Approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Don Nell
Road near Lloyde Street and contacted Warnock, the driver.  Deputies
smelled an odor of alcohol on Warnock.  During conversations with
Warnock, he admitted to have been drinking.  A records check revealed
Warnock to have a suspended driver’s license.  Following the field
sobriety tests (FST’s), Warnock was taken into custody and transported
to the Mohave County Jail where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol
concentration (BAC) to be .119%.  He was booked into the jail without
incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

SUSPENDED LICENSE – LAKE HAVASU CITY

y Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ralph Joseph Bowles, 51, of
Lake Havasu City, late Sunday (8/19) morning for driving on suspended
license and knowingly displaying false license plates, misdemeanors.
Approximately 11:52 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at the
intersection of Mesquite Drive and Lake Havasu Avenue.  Deputies
contacted Bowles.  A records check showed Bowles license to be suspended
and the vehicle plates belonging to another vehicle.  Bowles was taken
into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District III Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the
scene. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Patsy Brawnor, 53, of
Pleasanton, Texas, early Sunday (8/19) afternoon for assault domestic
violence and disorderly conduct domestic violence, misdemeanors.
Approximately 1:07 p.m, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 5500
block of Crater Lake Drive and contacted a 61-year-old female victim.
The victim reported that she and Brawnor, her sister, got into an
altercation and her sister bit her.  Deputies observed two bite marks on
the victim.  Deputies contacted Brawnor.  During conversations with
Brawnor, she said that she got into a scuffle with her sister.  Brawnor
was taken into custody without incident.  She was transported and booked
into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

DRUGS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – GOLDEN VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Leslie Bishop, 36, of
Dolan Springs, and Jeni Rebecca Bishop, 35, of Golden Valley, Sunday
(8/19) afternoon.  John Bishop was arrested for driving on a suspended
license, a misdemeanor.  Jeni Bishop was arrested for possession of
dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and a
misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Kingman Justice
Court.  While deputies were traveling eastbound on Highway 68 near
milepost 9, they observed a parked white truck approximately 150 yards
south of Highway 68 on a power access road.  At about 3:15 p.m.,
deputies approached the vehicle and observed two subjects.  Deputies
contacted the subjects identified as John Bishop and Jeni Bishop.  A
records check showed John Bishop to have a suspended driver’s license
and showed Jeni Bishop to have an outstanding warrant.  John Bishop and
Jeni Bishop were taken into custody without incident.  A search of Jeni
Bishop’s purse revealed a plastic container holding a plastic bag
containing a white crystal substance which field tested positive for
methamphetamine.  John Bishop and Jeni Bishop were transported and
booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.  The vehicle was
towed from the scene.

DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald Joseph Wade, 36, of
Holbrook, Sunday (8/19) evening for DUI, a misdemeanor.  Approximately
8:45 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Beale
Street and contacted Wade, the driver.  Deputies smelled an odor of
alcohol on Wade.  During conversations with Wade, he admitted to have
been drinking.  Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Wade was
taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County Jail where he
refused to submit to a breath analysis test.   He was booked into the
jail without incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

DRUGS/DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Callina Craven, 48, of
Golden Valley, Sunday (8/19) evening for possession of marijuana,
felony, DUI, and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .08%,
misdemeanors.  Approximately 9:50 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic
stop in the 600 block of Beale Street and contacted Craven, the driver.
Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Craven.  During conversations
with Craven, she admitted to have been drinking.  Following the field
sobriety tests (FST’s), Craven was taken into custody and transported
to the Mohave County Jail where an analysis revealed her blood alcohol
concentration (BAC) to be .080%.  She was booked into the jail without
incident.  A search of the vehicle revealed a metal container containing
marijuana.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

DRUGS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Raul Hernandez, 25, of Fort
Mohave, early Monday (8/20) morning for possession of marijuana,
possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and a misdemeanor warrant
for contempt of court issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.
Approximately 2:48 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1600
block of Aztec Road and contacted Hernandez, the driver.  Deputies
observed marijuana sitting inside the armrest of the vehicle.  A records
check showed Hernandez to have an outstanding warrant.  Hernandez was
taken into custody without incident.  A further search of the vehicle
revealed a blue and white pipe.  He was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District II Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the
scene.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA/WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Randall Charles Smith, 36,
of Kingman, early Monday (8/20) morning for possession of drug
paraphernalia, felony, and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay
fines issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Approximately 3:44 a.m.,
deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Diagonal Way and
contacted Smith, the driver.  A records check showed Smith to have an
outstanding warrant.  A search of the vehicle revealed a pipe with
residue.  Smith was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested David Ray Rhodes, 31, of
Kingman, Monday (8/20) afternoon on a probation violation felony warrant
issued by Mohave County Superior Court.  Approximately 2:00 p.m.,
detectives contacted Rhodes at a residence in the 3100 block of Neal
Avenue regarding his outstanding warrant.  Rhodes was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
Jail. 

SUSPENDED LICENSE – BULLHEAD CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Glen Stratton Jr.,
30, of Bullhead City, early Saturday (8/18) morning for driving with
suspended license, a misdemeanor.  Approximately 12:04 a.m., deputies
conducted a traffic stop on Highway 95 near Bullhead Parkway North.
Deputies contacted Stratton, the driver.  A records check showed
Stratton to have suspended driver’s license.  Stratton was cited and
released.  Stratton was also issued a written repair order for an
inoperable license plate lamp.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

JUVENILE REFERRAL – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies charged Christopher James Grogan,
17, of Fort Mohave, early Saturday (8/18) morning on felony charges of
possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia along with
a misdemeanor charge for displaying a fictitious license plate.
Approximately 1:16 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 95
near Camp Mohave and contacted Grogan, the driver, and the only occupant
in the vehicle.  A records check showed Grogan’s license was an
instruction permit which requires the presence of a valid operator.
Deputies also determined the license plate on the vehicle belonged to
another vehicle.  Grogan was taken into custody.  A search of the
vehicle revealed a plastic bag of marijuana and a pipe with residue.
Grogan was transported to his residence and released to his parents.
Grogan was also cited for failure to produce insurance, no valid license
and curfew violation.  A juvenile referral has been submitted on Grogan
to the Mohave County Juvenile Probation. 

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Stephanie Marie Meisch, 21,
a transient, Monday (8/20) morning for possession of drug paraphernalia,
a felony, and two warrants.  Deputies observed a female subject riding
an unlicensed mini-bike east on Hearne Avenue.  Deputies further
observed the mini-bike had stopped and the female was attempting to
restart it.  At about 9:45 a.m., deputies contacted the female subject
identified as Meisch in the 3900 block of Hearne Avenue.  A records
check showed Meisch to have a felony warrant and misdemeanor warrant
both for failure to appear, both issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Meisch was taken into custody without incident.  A search of Meisch’s
purse revealed a syringe, a cup containing a white crystal residue which
field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Meisch was transported and
booked into the Mohave County Jail. 

BURGLARY/TRESPASSING/DRUGS – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Deven Greer Pickrell, 20,
of Desert Hills, early Monday (8/20) afternoon for burglary,
trespassing, possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of
drug paraphernalia, all felonies.  On August 11, 2007, deputies
responded to a burglary report at a residence in the 5800 block of Reef
and contacted the 45-year-old female victim.  The victim reported that
someone broke into her house through a window and had taken two bottles
of prescription pills and a bottle of wine.  The victim further reported
that she thought Pickrell may have taken the items because he knew where
the items were kept.  During an on-going investigation, deputies
contacted multiple witnesses and Pickrell.  At about 12:20, deputies
contacted Pickrell at a residence in the 1100 block of Vista Drive.
During conversations with Pickrell, he said
 the victim owed him money
and he denied breaking into her residence and taking the items.
Pickrell was taken into custody without incident.  A search of
Pickrell’s backpack revealed a plastic bag of marijuana, glass pipe
with residue, several marijuana cigarettes and a scale.  Pickrell was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.

INJURY ACCIDENT – MEADVIEW
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle injury
accident that occurred on Diamond Bar Road early Monday (8/20)
afternoon.  At about 12:54 p.m. deputies responded to the scene of where
a sewer truck rolled over.  The male adult driver suffered minor
injuries.  Grapevine Mesa Fire Department responded and transported the
victim to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment.  Diamond Bar
Road was closed for several hours to offload the sewer truck and heavy
equipment was brought in to get the truck up righted.  Hualapai Tribal
Nation assisted with traffic control.  Investigation is pending and
speed may have been a factor in the rollover. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Richard Glen Gibson, 56, of
Fort Mohave, Monday (8/20) evening on a felony warrant for failure to
appear issued by Mohave County Superior Court.  Approximately 9:30 p.m.,
deputies contacted Gibson at a residence in the 5700 block of Gazelle
Drive on an unrelated incident.  A records check showed Gibson to have
an outstanding warrant.  Gibson was taken into custody without incident.
 He was transported and booked into the Mohave County District II
Substation.

DUI – GOLDEN VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Matthew Edward Reno, 45, of
Golden Valley, late Monday (8/20) evening for DUI and speeding
violation, misdemeanors.  At about 11:29 p.m., deputies observed a
vehicle traveling east on Highway 68 at a high rate of speed.  Deputies
traveled behind the vehicle and observed it traveling 90 miles per hour
for approximately 2 miles.  Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway
68 at Horn Road and contacted Reno, the driver.  Deputies smelled an
odor of alcohol on Reno.  Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s),
Reno was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County Jail
where he refused to submit to a breath analysis.  A blood sample was
taken from Reno to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further
analysis.  Reno was booked into the jail without incident.  The vehicle
was towed from the scene.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 2 illegal immigrants early
Monday (8/20) evening.  Approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies conducted a
traffic stop on Highway 95 at Wolf Court.  Deputies contacted two
occupants inside the vehicle and determined them to be illegal
immigrants with the assistance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The two subjects were transported to the Mohave County District II
Substation where ICE later took them into custody.  The driver was cited
for not having a valid driver’s license.  The driver identified as
Juan Perez Cruiz, 23, and the passenger identified as Apolinar Cruiz,
24.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

TRESPASSING/UNLAWFUL FLIGHT – HORIZON SIX
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Danny Williams, 41, of
Horizon Six, Monday (8/20) morning for trespassing and unlawful flight
from law enforcement vehicle, felonies.  Last Wednesday (8/15) deputies
observed Williams operating a green quad which had no registration in
the 4000 block of Blue Canyon Road.  Deputies recognized the operator to
be Williams from previous contacts.  Deputies caught up with the quad
and determined its speed to be 45 miles per hour in a posted 25 mph
zone.  Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Williams
continued traveling at a high rate of speed through a dirt field.
Deputies discontinued attempting to contact Williams.  An ATL (Attempt
to Locate) was issued to area law enforcement.  At about 7:35 a.m.,
deputies observed Williams standing in the backyard of a residence in
the 1000 block of Lakeside Road.  Deputies attempted to contact
Williams, but he would not come out of the residence.  Deputies
contacted the homeowner and the homeowner said that know one should be
inside the residence.  Lake Havasu Police officers responded and
assisted.  Deputies got consent to search the residence.  Deputies
located Williams hiding under a bed.  Williams was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District III Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – BULLHEAD CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Maria Sanchez, 65, of
Bullhead City, early Tuesday (8/21) afternoon on a felony warrant for
criminal damage and DUI issued by Mohave County Superior Court on
6-15-07.  Approximately 1:56 p.m, deputies contacted Sanchez at a
residence in the 1600 block of Rio Vista Drive regarding his outstanding
warrant.  Sanchez was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

BURGLARY/TRESPASSING/DRUGS – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Anthony Mitchell,
19, of Lake Havasu City, Tuesday (8/21) morning for burglary and
trespassing, felonies.  Deputies charged Mitchell with burglary and
trespassing relating to an August 11, 2007, burglary that occurred at a
residence in the 5800 block of Reef.  For more information, see MCSO
Press Release 8/21/07.  Deputies contacted Mitchell at the Mohave County
District III Substation.  Mitchell was incarcerated on August 15, 2007,
for shoplifting and minor in possession of liquor, misdemeanors.  

SUSPENDED LICENSE – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Cara Lisa Kucich, 43, of
Lake Havasu City, early Tuesday (8/21) evening for driving on a
suspended license, misdemeanor.  Approximately 5:20 p.m, deputies
conducted a traffic stop at London Bridge Road and Chenoweth and
contacted Kucich, the driver.  A records check showed Kucich’s license
to be suspended.  Kucich was taken into custody without incident.  She
was transported and booked into the Mohave County District III
Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

ARMED ROBBERY/AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – GOLDEN SHORES
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Thomas Aubrey Hughes Jr.,
48, of Golden Shores, Tuesday (8/21) evening for
attempted armed
robbery, aggravated assault with deadly weapon, theft, disorderly
conduct involving a weapon and possession of weapon by prohibited
person, all felonies.  Approximately 8:00 p.m, deputies responded to a
store located in the 13000 block of Golden Shores Parkway in reference
to a male subject who pulled a gun on an employee.  Deputies contacted
the reporting party and an employee, a 21-year-old male victim.  The
victim reported that a male subject drove up in a golf cart and pointed
a handgun at him.  The victim further reported that the male subject
instructed him to lie on the ground and he wanted everybody’s money.
The victim said that the male subject eventually put the gun away and
went into the store.  The reporting party said that the male subject
came into the store and she refused to sell him alcohol because he
appeared to be intoxicated.  The subject is described as a white male
having a white goatee, white hair and approximately 5’8 or 5’9.
Upon further investigations, deputies determined the male subject to be
Hughes.  A short time later, deputies contacted Hughes at a residence in
the 4500 block of Tule Drive.  Deputies observed a handgun lying on a
table.  During conversations with Hughes, he said that he did not hurt
anyone at the store earlier.  Hughes was taken into custody without
incident.  The Smith & Wesson handgun was confiscated and a computer
check showed the handgun was reported stolen in October 2005.  Hughes
was transported to the store where he was identified as the suspect.
Hughes was transported and booked into the Mohave County District II
Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Mike Eugene Johnson, 51, of
Fort Mohave, Tuesday (8/21) evening on a felony warrant for arrest prior
to requisition issued out of San Bernardino County.  Approximately 9:30
p.m, deputies contacted Johnson in the 4600 block of Highway 95.  A
records check showed Johnson to have an outstanding warrant.  Johnson
was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked
into the Mohave County District II Substation.

ASSAULT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report at the Mohave
County Jail on Wednesday (8/22) due to an inmate assaulting another
inmate.  Approximately 11:13 p.m., deputies contacted the 45-year-old
male inmate victim and he reported that inmate Albert Denogean, 46, of
Scottsdale, took a swing at him and struck him in the nose.  The victim
suffered a minor laceration on the bridge of his nose.  The victim was
treated by medical personnel.  Denogean was charged with assault, a
misdemeanor.  Denogean has been in custody since August 8, 2007, when he
was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal nuisance, misdemeanors.
 

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA/FALSE REPORT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jennifer Ann Dunn, 25, of
Kingman, early Wednesday (8/22) afternoon for possession of drug
paraphernalia, a probation violation warrant issued by Mohave County
Superior Court, both felonies, false reporting to law enforcement and a
contempt of court warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court, both
misdemeanors.  Approximately 12:15 p.m, deputies conducted a traffic
stop on Snavely Avenue and Marshall Drive and contacted a female driver.
 Initially the female subject provided deputies with a false name and
she could not provide identification.  Deputies determined the female
subject to be Dunn.  A records check showed Dunn to have outstanding
warrants.  Dunn was taken into custody without incident.  A search of
the vehicle revealed a syringe and a scale.  She was transported and
booked into the Mohave County Jail.  The vehicle was towed from the
scene.

THEFT  – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Timothy Ryan Craycraft, 19,
of Kingman, Wednesday (8/22) afternoon for theft of means of
transportation, felony, and failure to pay fines misdemeanor warrant
issued by Kingman Justice Court.  On Monday (8/13) deputies responded to
a theft report of a quad in the 4800 block of North Sierra Road and
contacted an 80-year-old male victim.  The victim reported that someone
had stolen his red 2005 Kawasaki quad from his property.  Approximately
3:30 p.m, deputies observed an off road vehicle with no license plate
traveling on Lark Lane.  Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Swan Drive
and Lark Lane.  Deputies contacted Craycraft, the operator.  A records
check showed the off road vehicle was reported stolen on August 13 and
also showed Craycraft to have an outstanding warrant.  Craycraft was
taken into custody without incident.  During conversations with
Craycraft, he said that he recently borrowed the quad from a friend.  He
was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.  The owner
responded to the scene and recovered his property.

DRUGS – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Gary Dean Beavers, 52, of
Mohave Valley, Monday (8/20) evening for possession of marijuana,
felony, and prescription only drug violation, misdemeanor.
Approximately 9:15 p.m, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1500
block of Camp Mohave Road and contacted Beavers, the driver.  Deputies
smelled an odor of alcohol on Beavers.  During conversations with
Beavers, he admitted to have been drinking.  Beavers showed no signs of
impairment following the field sobriety tests.  Deputies got consent to
search the vehicle.  The search revealed marijuana located inside a
sunglass container and miscellaneous prescription pills located inside a
bottle with no prescription label.  Beavers was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District II Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the scene

INJURY ACCIDENT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two vehicle injury
accident that occurred on N Bank Street at Devlin Avenue Wednesday
(8/22) evening.  At about 8:53 p.m. deputies responded to the scene of
where a Ford truck was traveling north on Bank Street.  The truck turned
left in front of a mid-sized Chrysler vehicle that was traveling
southbound.   The truck collided semi-head on with the Chrysler.  The
Chrysler was driven by a single occupant who did not need medical
treatment.  The truck was driven by Cathy Hutchinson, 51, of Henderson,
with two male juveniles riding in the bed of the truck.  All three
occupants of the truck were transported to Kingman Regional Medical
Center.  One of the male juveniles was later airlifted to Sunrise
Medical Center in Las Vegas.  Kingman Regional Medical Center treated
and released the two injured occupants.  This accident is still under
investigation.

THEFT/FRAUD/FORGERY  – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dustin James Weiss, 20, of
Lake Havasu City, Tuesday (8/21) morning for theft, fraudulent schemes
and forgery, felonies.  The two victims, mother and daughter ages 46 and
20, came into the Mohave County District III Substation on Saturday
(8/20) to report fraud.  The victims said that they have a joint
checking account and they were contacted by their bank regarding a check
that was written for $100,000.00 against their account.  The victims
further said that Weiss had attempted to deposit the check into his
account.  The 20-year-old victim said that Weiss is an ex-boyfriend and
he lived with them for a short period of time.  Deputies obtained the
fraudulent check for $100,000.00 which was payable to Weiss. 
Approximately 7:36 a.m, deputies contacted Weiss at a residence in the
4000 block of Blue Canyon Road in Lake Havasu City regarding his
involvement with the fraudulent check.  During conversations with Weiss,
he admitted to writing himself a check and trying to deposit it into his
account.  Weiss was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brian William Richards, 47,
of Fort Mohave, Monday (8/20) morning on a probation violation felony
warrant for criminal damage by domestic violence issued by Mohave County
Superior Court.  Approximately 8:40 a.m, deputies contacted Richards at
a residence in the 4300 block of Rafe Avenue regarding his outstanding
warrant.  Richards was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.

FALSE REPORT – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jesse Wayne Scott, 23, of
Bullhead City, Monday (8/20) morning for false reporting to law
enforcement, a misdemeanor.  Approximately 10:00 a.m, deputies responded
to a criminal damage report in the 5600 block of Mission Road.  Deputies
contacted the reporting party identified as Scott.  The reporting party
said that he wanted to report damage and fire to his vehicle for
insurance purposes.  The reporting party further said that he came home
this morning around midnight and when he awoke he observed damage to his
vehicle.  Deputies observed damage to the front right bumper and quarter
panel of the 2006 Hyundai.  During the investigation, deputies
determined that Scott had incurred the damage himself when he drove
home.  Scott was taken into custody without incident.  He was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Patience Ladonna Robles,
18, and Nathan Lee Andrews, 21, both of Mohave Valley, Wednesday (8/22)
afternoon.  Robles and Andrews were each arrested for assault domestic
violence, misdemeanors.  Approximately 3:39 p.m, deputies responded to a
domestic violence call in the 1600 block of Cottonwood Lane.  Deputies
contacted Robles.  Robles said that Andrews, her boyfriend, threw her
against a wall and tried to choke her.  Deputies contacted Andrews.
Andrews said that when he got home that they began arguing.  Andrews
further said Robles became irate and started hitting him.  Deputies
observed a scratch mark on Andrews face.  Robles and Andrews were taken
into custody without incident.  They were transported and booked into
the Mohave County District II Substation.

SHERIFFS DEPUTES APPREHEND 19 ILLEGALS DURING TRAFFIC STOPS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 19 illegal immigrants in
five separate traffic stops between Saturday (8/25) and Monday (8/27).

The first traffic stop occurred Saturday (8/25) evening at about 9:32
p.m. on Highway 68 at Katherine Mine Road in Bullhead City. Deputies
contacted the driver and determined the subject to be an illegal
immigrant with the assistance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The subject was transported to the Mohave County District II Substation
where ICE later took him into custody. 

The second traffic stop occurred early Sunday (8/26) morning at about
2:50 a.m. on Highway 95 near El Rodeo where a speeding vehicle was
stopped in Fort Mohave.  Deputies contacted Pichardo, the driver, as
identified by his Mexico Identification Card.  Deputies determined
Pichardo to be illegal immigrant with the assistance of Immigration and
Customs Enforcement.  Pichardo was transported to the Mohave County
District II Substation where ICE later took him into custody.  Pichardo
was cited for exceeding speed limit, not having a valid driver’s
license, failure to carry registration and failure to produce financial
responsibility.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The third traffic stop occurred late Sunday (8/26) morning at about
10:48 a.m. in the 5500 block of Highway 95 in Fort Mohave.  Fort Mohave
Tribal Police officers responded and assisted.  Deputies contacted three
occupants inside the vehicle and determined that they did not have
documents to be in the United States.  The three subjects were
transported to the Mohave County Jail where immigration officers from
Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted on scene interviews and
determined they were in the United States illegally.  ICE took them into
custody.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The fourth traffic stop occurred Sunday (8/26) evening at about 9:50
p.m. on Highway 95 at milepost 240 in Fort Mohave.  Deputies contacted
three occupants inside the vehicle and determined them to be illegal
immigrants with the assistance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The driver identified as Carlos Jose Montero, 33, and the passengers
identified as Alvaro Gonzales Ortiz, 29, and Ramos Gonzales
Carlos-Jesus, 21, all from Lake Havasu City.  Deputies smelled an odor
of alcohol on Montero.  An analysis revealed Montero’s blood alcohol
concentration (BAC) to be .088%.  A search of the vehicle revealed open
containers of beer.  The subjects were transported to the Mohave County
District II Substation.  ICE later took Ortiz and Carlos-Jesus into
custody.  Ortiz and Carlos-Jesus were each cited for open container in
vehicle.  Montero was booked into the jail for DUI, DUI with a blood
alcohol concentration over .08% and open container in vehicle,
misdemeanors.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The fifth traffic stop occurred early Monday (8/27) morning at about
12:46 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Beale Street in Kingman.  Deputies
contacted eleven occupants inside the vehicle and determined them to be
illegal immigrants with the assistance of Immigration and Customs
Enforcement.  The eleven subjects were transported to the Mohave County
Jail where ICE later took them into custody.  Kingman Police Department
Officer assisted with transporting the subjects to jail.  The vehicle
was towed from the scene.


DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Edward James Stinson, 56,
of Mohave Valley, Friday (8/24) afternoon for aggravated assault
domestic violence, felony.  Approximately 3:50 p.m, deputies responded
to a disturbance in the 7900 block of King Court and contacted a
56-year-old female victim.  The victim reported that Stinson, her
husband, head butted her and caused her nose to bleed.  The victim
further reported that Stinson left the residence.  Mohave Valley Fir

personnel responded and transported the victim to Valley View Medical
Center for treatment.  A short time later, deputies contacted Stinson at
a business located in the 8800 block of Highway 95.  During
conversations with Stinson, he said that they got into an altercation
and that his forehead came in contact with her nose.  Stinson was taken
into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District II Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jesus Luis Magdaleno, 29,
of Yucca, Friday (8/24) evening on a probation violation felony warrant
issued by Mohave County Superior Court.  Approximately 7:46 p.m.,
deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 95 at Cimmaron and
contacted Magdaleno, the driver.  A records check showed Magdaleno to
have an outstanding warrant.  Magdaleno was taken into custody without
incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County District
II Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Bruce Erwin Hamil, 54, of
Mohave Valley, Friday (8/24) afternoon on a failure to appear felony
warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court.  Approximately 4:50
p.m., deputies contacted Hamil at a residence in the 10000 block of Gary
Lane regarding his outstanding warrant.  Hamil was taken into custody
without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
District II Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Gregory Stephen Zeller, 47,
of Fort Mohave, late Friday (8/24) evening for fugitive from justice
felony warrant issued out of San Bernardino County.  Approximately 11:30
p.m., while patrolling the area of Pebble Lake deputies contacted Zeller
at the intersection of Paseo Redondo and Paseo Redondo Way.  A records
check showed Zeller to have an outstanding warrant.  Zeller was taken
into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District II Substation. 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph Eugene Hull, 31, of
Kingman, Friday (8/24) evening for aggravated assault, felony.
Approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies responded to an assault call in the
4000 block of Pinal Street and contacted the reporting party, the
victims’ mother.  The reporting party said that she was contacted by
her sons’ babysitter that a male adult by the name of Joe assaulted
her 12-year-old son.  Deputies contacted the victim.  The victim said
that Joe punched him twice in the back of the head.  The victim further
said that he fell to the ground and Joe started dragging him around and
kicked him.  Deputies learned that Hull left the residence prior to the
arrival.  Medical responded and treated the victim.  Deputies contacted
Hull at a residence in the 3800 block of Heritage Lane.  During
conversations with Hull, he said that some kid got into his business, so
he shoved the kids around, but he never hit him.  Hull was taken into
custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave
County Jail.

EXTREME DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ryan Malcolm Leary, 22, of
Kingman, early Saturday (8/25) morning for DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .08% and extreme DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .15%, misdemeanors.  Approximately 2:30 a.m.,
deputies conducted a traffic stop on Bank Street at Ames Street and
contacted Leary, the driver.  Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on
Leary.  Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Leary was taken
into custody and transported to the Mohave County Jail where an analysis
revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .231%.  He was
booked into the jail without incident.  The vehicle was towed from the
scene.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Manuel Gonzales, 32, of
Fort Mohave, Saturday (8/25) morning for aggravated assault domestic
violence, felony.  On Friday (8/24) deputies responded to a report of
child abuse at Camp Mohave Elementary School.  Deputies were contacted
by a Child Protective Services employee.  The CPS employee said that
school officials had contacted them regarding an 11-year-old male
student with bruises. Deputies contacted the victim and his mother.
Deputies learned that the victim was assaulted by his father, Gonzales.
Approximately 6:10 a.m., deputies contacted Gonzales at a residence in
the 1600 block of Gran Circulo.  During conversations with Gonzales, he
said that his son lied to him and that he punched his son twice.
Gonzales was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported
and booked into the Mohave County Jail. 

RECKLESS DRIVING/EXTREME DUI – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald Ray Stephans, 49, of
Lake Havasu City, Saturday (8/25) afternoon for DUI, DUI with a blood
alcohol concentration over .08%, extreme DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .15% and reckless driving, misdemeanors.
Approximately 2:09 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4800
block of Highway 95 and contacted Stephans, the driver.  Deputies
smelled an odor of alcohol on Stephans.  Following the field sobriety
tests (FST’s), Stephans was taken into custody and transported to the
Mohave County District II Substation where an analysis revealed his
blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .281%.  He was booked into the
jail without incident.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

EXTREME DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dustin Wes McMillian, 19,
and Anthony Bryan Hunt, 19, both of Kingman, early Sunday (8/26)
morning.  McMillian was arrested for DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .08%, extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration
over .15%, minor consumption and driving with suspended license, all
misdemeanors. 
Hunt was arrested for minor consumption, misdemeanor.  Approximately
12:37 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Bank Street at Potter
Avenue and contacted McMillian, the driver.  Deputies smelled an odor of
alcohol on McMillian.  During conversations with McMillian, he admitted
to have been drinking beer earlier.  A records check showed
McMillian’s drivers license to be suspended.  Following the field
sobriety tests (FST’s), McMillian was taken into custody and
transported to the Mohave County Jail where an analysis revealed his
blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .178%.  He was booked into the
jail without incident.  Deputies also contacted Hunt, a passenger.
Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Hunt.  During conversations with
Hunt, he admitted to having one beer earlier.  Hunt performed an
analysis which revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be
.154.  Hunt was released to a responsible third party.  The vehicle was
towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested John Russell Lucier, 40, of
Lake Hav
asu City, early Sunday (8/26) evening on a failure to appear
misdemeanor warrant issued by Lake Havasu City Justice Court.
Approximately 5:39 p.m., deputies contacted Lucier at a residence in the
3800 block of Sweetgrass Drive regarding his outstanding warrant.
Lucier was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and
booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Michael Hackett, 28,
of Fort Mohave, early Monday (8/27) evening on two misdemeanor warrants
for failure to appear issued by Bullhead City Municipal Court and
failure to pay fines issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.
Approximately 4:37 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 4400
block of Calle Viveza and contacted the reporting party.  The reporting
party said that she and Hackett, her husband, had been arguing and he
took off walking after he took her keys and work identification card.  A
short time later, deputies located Hackett in the 4700 block of Highway
95.  A records check showed Hackett to have outstanding warrants.
Hackett was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and
booked into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tonyia Rachael Srout, 32,
of Fort Mohave, early Monday (8/27) evening on a misdemeanor warrant for
failure to appear issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.  Approximately
7:00 p.m., deputies contacted Srout in the 4400 block of Highway 95.   A
records check showed Srout to have an outstanding warrant.  Srout was
taken into custody without incident.  She was transported and booked
into the Mohave County District II Substation. 

CRIMINAL DAMAGE – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Betty Ellen Blauvelt, 55,
of Fort Mohave, Monday (8/27) evening for criminal damage, felony, and
disorderly conduct, misdemeanor.  Approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies
responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Camp Mohave Road and
contacted the 60-year-old male victim.  The victim reported that
Blauvelt broke a window on the residence and threw chairs around.  The
victim further said that Blauvelt left walking down Patina Drive,
towards her house.  Deputies observed a broken window and two folding
chairs that appeared to have been thrown around.  Deputies contacted
Blauvelt at a residence in the 4500 block of Patina Drive.  During
conversations with Blauvelt, she said that she was at the residence in
the 1300 block of Camp Mohave Road.  Further conversations with
Blauvelt, she said that she was drinking and she doesn’t remember
anything other than leaving and walking home.  Blauvelt was taken into
custody without incident.  She was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District II Substation. 

WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Kasey Allen Long, 30, of
Kingman, Friday (8/24) afternoon on a felony warrant for possession of
marijuana issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Detectives observed Long in
the area of Golden Gate Avenue.  Detectives knew Long to have an
outstanding warrant.  Approximately 2:14 p.m., detectives conducted a
traffic stop in the 1900 block of Golden Gate Avenue and contacted Long.
 A records check confirmed Long’s active warrant.  Long was taken into
custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave
County Jail. 

OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE – TOPOCK
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jamie Lynn Poly, 49, of
Golden Shores, late Saturday (8/25) afternoon for OUI and OUI with a
blood alcohol concentration over .08%, misdemeanors.  Approximately 4:20
p.m., deputies contacted Poly while they were working an OUI Checkpoint
in the area of Topock Bridge.  Poly was operating a white Pontoon boat.
Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Poly.  Poly was taken into
custody and transported to Contact Point where an analysis revealed her
blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .104%.  She was transported and
booked into the Mohave County District III Substation without incident.


DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Gerard Henry Exley Jr., 48,
of Kingman, early Saturday (8/25) evening for DUI, a misdemeanor.
Approximat
ely 6:25 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hualapai
Mountain Road at milepost 5 and contacted Exley, the driver.  Deputies
smelled an odor of alcohol on Exley.  During conversations with Exley,
he admitted to have had a couple drinks.  Exley refused to perform the
field sobriety tests (FST’s) as requested by the deputies.  Exley was
taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County Jail where he
also refused to submit to a breath analysis.  A blood sample was taken
from Exley to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis.
Exley was booked into the jail without incident. 
The motorcycle was towed from the scene.

DRUGS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronnie Paul Allen, 27, and
Donald Mark Tarbell, 50, both of Lake Havasu City, Tuesday (8/28)
morning.  Allen was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs,
possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and two misdemeanor warrants
for failure to pay fines issued by Lake Havasu City Justice Court and
failure to appear issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Tarbell was arrested
for possession of dangerous drugs, felony.  Deputies recognized a
passenger traveling in a van identified as Allen.   Deputies knew Allen
to have outstanding warrants.  Approximately 10:18 a.m, deputies
conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Jacob Row.  Deputies
contacted Tarbell, the driver, and Allen, the passenger.  A records
check confirmed Allen to have active warrants.  As deputies were taking
Allen into custody, they observed a glass pipe underneath his shoe.
Deputies confiscated the glass pipe with residue.  A search of the
vehicle revealed a plastic bag inside the center console containing a
white crystal substance which tested positive for methamphetamine.
Tarbell was taken into custody without incident.  Allen and Tarbell were
transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Substation.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Leslie Graham Witt Sr., 58,
of Fort Mohave, Tuesday (8/28) morning on a misdemeanor warrant for
contempt of court issued by Bullhead City Justice Court.  Approximately
9:00 a.m, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Aztec Road at Highway 95
and contacted Witt, the driver.  A records check showed Witt to have an
outstanding warrant.  Witt was taken into custody without incident.  He
was transported and booked into the Mohave County District II
Substation.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Max Vincent Gonzalez, 34,
of Bullhead City, early Tuesday (8/28) evening for unlawful
imprisonment, felony, and assault domestic violence, misdemeanor.
Approximately 7:11 p.m, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 1800
block of Bear Creek Way and contacted the 32-year-old female victim.
The victim reported Gonzalez, her husband, grabbed her by her hair and
threw her to the ground.  The victim further said that Gonzalez got on
top of her and tried to rip off her cloths.  Deputies observed injuries
to the victims’ elbows, hands, back and legs.  Medical responded and
treated the victim.  Deputies contacted Gonzalez and took him into
custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave
County District II Substation. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Johnny August Rightnar, 29,
of Fort Mohave, early Sunday (8/26) morning on a misdemeanor warrant for
contempt of court and disorderly conduct domestic violence issued by
Bullhead City Justice Court.  Approximately 1:15 a.m, deputies responded
to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Luna Media.  Deputies contacted
Rightnar and a records check showed him to have an outstanding warrant.
Rightnar was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported
and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Russell Vene Dickinson, 25,
of Kingman, Wednesday (8/29) afternoon for assault domestic violence, a
misdemeanor, along with three warrants.  Approximately 3:20 p.m,
deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3000 block of Leroy Avenue
and contacted the 26-year-old female victim.  The victim reported that
she and Dickinson, her boyfriend, were arguing when he kicked her in the
knee.  The victim further reported that he left the residence walking.
Deputies contacted a witness and the witness confirmed the victims’
statements.  A short time later, deputies contacted Dickinson in the
3200 block of Northern Avenue.  During conversations with Dickinson, he
said that they were arguing and he did not kick her.  Dickinson was
taken into custody without incident.  A records check showed Dickinson
to have a felony warrant for marijuana violation and two misdemeanor
warrants for failure to pay fines, all warrants issued by Kingman
Justice Court.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County
Jail. 

DRUGS/WEAPON OFFENSE  – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tadd Paul Jackman, 38, of
Kingman, early Thursday (8/30) morning for possession of dangerous
drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a prohibited
weapon, prohibited possessor, felonies, and three misdemeanor warrants
issued by Kingman Justice Court for failure to appear, failure to pay
fines and probation violation.
Approximately 12:15 a.m, deputies conducted a traffic stop at Mallard
and Lark Lane.  Deputies contacted Jackman, the driver. 
Deputies observed a barrel of a shotgun sitting on the backseat behind
the driver.  Jackman replied no when deputies asked him if there were
any weapons in the vehicle.  Deputies had Jackman exit the vehicle.
During conversations with Jackman, he said that he has meth in his
pocket.  Deputies located a scale and a plastic bag containing a white
crystal substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Jackman was taken into custody without incident.  A records check showed
Jackman to have active warrants.  Deputies confiscated the shotgun.  He
was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.  The vehicle was
towed from the scene.

WARRANT ARREST – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Helmut Walter Gail, 47, of
Desert Hills, Tuesday (8/28) afternoon on a failure to pay fines
misdemeanor warrant issued by Lake Havasu City Municipal Court.
Approximately 2:29 p.m, deputies contacted Gail at a residence in the
3000 block of Joyce Lane regarding his outstanding warrant.  Gail was
taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into
the Mohave County District III Substation.

WARRANT ARREST – GOLDEN VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Matthew John Broderick, 21,
of Golden Valley, Sunday (8/26) evening on a felony warrant for criminal
damage issued by Kingman Justice Court.  Approximately 7:30 p.m,
deputies responded to the 6100 block of Shipp Drive in reference to loud
music.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted Broderick.  A records check
showed Broderick to have an outstanding warrant.  Broderick was taken
into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the
Mohave County Jail.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Sergio Emilio Gortariz, 18,
of Kingman on Thursday (8/30) evening for aggravated assault with a
deadly weapon, aggravated assault and burglary, felonies.  On 7/29 at
about 4:00 am, deputies contacted the 18 year-old male victim.  The
victim reported that while at a residence in the 1700 block of Gordon,
he was hit in the face and kicked.  Deputies observed the male victim to
be bleeding and he complained of pain.  After speaking with the victim,
deputies responded to the residence on Gordon and contacted the male
subjects inside.  While speaking to the male subjects, they contacted
another victim, a 19 year-old male.  The 19 year-old victim reported
that he was in another room in the house when he heard loud noises
coming from the front of the residence.  He told deputies that he
observed the male victim being hit and kicked by Gortariz.  He advised
as he attempted to break up the altercation, Gortariz displayed a knife
and cut him.  Deputies observed the 19 year-old to have a cut on his
hand.  While speaking to the victims and witnesses, it was learned that
Gortariz was the suspect.  On 8/30 at approximately 6:00 pm, deputies
contacted Gortariz at the Mohave County Jail, who was in custody on an
unrelated incident.  While speaking with Gortariz, he admitted to
entering the residence and assaulting the victims.  Gortariz told
deputies he was to blame for the incident.  He advised deputies that he
had problems with the victim’s in the past.  Gortariz was booked on
the additional charges. 

THEFT OF A VEHICLE – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Greg Jason Kappes, 24, of
Vista, Caifornia on Thursday (8/30) morning for theft of means of
transportation, a felony.  Approximately 9:30 am, deputies received
information from the male victim, who reported that Kappes had taken his
1988 Toyota pickup truck without his permission.  The victim told
deputies that be believed Kappes was at a residence in the 3600 block of
Bowie Road.  Deputies responded to the residence on Bowie Road and
observed the pickup truck parked in the driveway.  Deputies contacted
Kappes who admitted to taking the pickup truck.  Kappes was taken into
custody without incident.  A record check showed Kappes to have a felony
probation violation warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court and
felony warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Kingman Justice Court.
 Kappes was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

DRUGS – GOLDEN VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nathan James Trester, 19,
of Golden Valley on Thursday (8/30) evening for possession of marijuana
and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies.  Approximately 8:00 pm,
deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Verde Road and Abrigo.
Deputies contacted the driver who was unable to provide a valid
driver’s license.  A record check showed the vehicle’s license
plate to be suspended for no insurance.  The driver, identified as
Trester, was taken into custody without incident.  During a search of
the vehicle, deputies located marijuana inside a duffel bag and a glass
pipe with burnt marijuana residue.  Trester was transported and booked
into the Mohave County Jail.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

DRUGS – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Israel Christopher Trujillo
Jr., 44, of Kingman on Thursday (8/30) evening for possession of
dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies.
Approximately 7:30 pm, deputies responded to a call in the 3000 block of
Butler Avenue.  While at the residence, Trujillo arrived and continued
to interrupt deputies during their investigation.  After numerous
warnings to leave, Trujillo was taken into custody.  A search revealed a
plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, which field tested
positive to be methamphetamine, and
a syringe located inside his pocket.
 Trujillo was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

DRUGS – DOLAN SPRINGS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Derek Lee Wayman, 21, of
Henderson, Nevada on Friday (8/31) morning for possession of drug
paraphernalia, a felony and trespassing, a misdemeanor.  Approximately
2:00 am, deputies responded to a call in the area of Highway 93 and
White Hills Road.  Deputies contacted the male victim who reported his
neighbor observed an unknown male subject on the roof of the building,
which is under construction.  Deputies conducted a search and located
the male, identified as Wayman, lying on the roof of the building.
Wayman was taken into custody without incident.  A search revealed
Wayman to have a metal pipe with marijuana residue.  Wayman admitted the
pipe was used for smoking marijuana.  Wayman was transported and booked
into the Mohave County Jail.
