MOHAVE COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL SPAY & NEUTER FUND Mohave County Animal Control has received an outstanding response from residents in claiming vouchers toward getting their animal spayed or neutered. Currently the $5,000 grant that was given to MCAC by Arizona Companion Animal Spay/Neuter Committee has been tapped out by residents of Mohave County. There are some remaining funds in the Spay and Neuter account from private donations. While funds exist, vouchers for $35 will be available to Mohave County residents, one per household. The vouchers are accepted by the majority of Kingman veterinarians. Beginning March 1st, these vouchers will be available and residents will have 45 days to redeem the voucher. Vouchers may be picked up at the Mohave County Animal Control office located at 950 Buchanan Street in Kingman, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. This program exists solely on donations from the public. In the past, volunteers from the Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, local animal welfare groups and citizens have conducted fund raising events to generate donations to help keep the program available. From time to time, Animal Control personnel have to stop issuing vouchers because the funds literally run out. Anyone wishing to make a private donation should contact Trish Carter at (928) 753-0755.
